Radio Rambo - Aaron's Truckers4RonPaul.org Blog

Truckers4RonPaul.org

This is where I'll post the latest happenings with me and the Ron Paul for President campaign.  From this, if you're not a trucker, you'll get an idea of what life on the road is like for us drivers.  I'll always include my location at the time of posting, along with the date and time, of course.  Enjoy!

06/05/08 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 12:39

Well, folks, I turned in my keys and am no longer trucking.  I've decided that life over-the-road isn't conducive to what I want and is just too hard on my family.  So I parked the rig and came home yesterday.  There just isn't enough money in driving a truck anymore to justify what it costs (physically, emotionally, and financially) to do the job to justify my still doing it.  Thanks to government intervention, you can't do much of anything on the road but sit around waiting for stuff or driving odd hours that ruin your sleep and make you unsafe.

Anyway, this doesn't mean I'll be shutting down this site or anything.  Just that I'm no longer over-the-road.  I'm looking for new employment, so if anyone knows of anything in the Cheyenne, WY area...  :)

06-01-08 - Bakersfield, CA - 16:12

The big news today, if you watch CNN, is that Hillary has won Puerto Rico.  Uhh... they're not even a state.  Then wide discussion ensues about how if Hillary concedes her loss, maybe she would make a dream ticket as Obama's V.P.  Plus some tidbits about the debacle they pulled in Michigan and how that will affect the outcome...

No mention of the wars we've got going on: nothing about the newly dead in Iraq or the all-but-forgotten soldiers in Afghanistan.  No mention of the candidates' stands on the issue of the war.  Not even a bare hint of how far and fast the dollar is falling and our economy's impending doom...   Nothing.

Just tripe about the fake candidates and their equally false expressions of how they'll "help" the American people.

I'm obviously not in a good mood.  That's why I haven't done the newsletter today.

05/22/08 - Rawlins, WY - 19:55

Here I am, parked in Rawlins, Wyoming, waiting for the tornado warnings to lift.  I was hoping to get home tonight as I am to deliver this load in Cheyenne tomorrow mid-morning, but  that's not to be.  Oh well.  I'll have the Memorial Day weekend off, anyway, so I don't really have anything to complain about.

I plan to put out another newsletter, though it'll be small.  There are a handful of site updates to make as well, so I'll get those done tonight and tomorrow.   I've been having fun with BreaktheMatrix.com and have many friends there now (I'm "Militant Libertarian" - look me up).  If you haven't checked it out, it's a social networking site with a combination of features from MySpace and Digg all with the idea of networking freedom-loving individuals.  They're starting a new TV network on cable and have a radio network already going.

05/23/08 update: a power failure at the truck stop cut me off before I could publish the site updates.   Luckily, they were saved, so I was able to do so today.  :)

05/10/08 - North Bend, WA - 20:30

The next newsletter is coming out this weekend.  If you aren't signed up to receive them, you'd better get over to the Got Your Ears On? page and do so!  :)

I wrote a book review recently of Ron Paul's new book, The Revolution: A Manifesto.   You can read that at this link.

The Demoncrats had their showing in Oregon this weekend and the Republicrats are having theirs in Arizona this weekend as well.  We'll see how they go.  If Nevada was any indication, AZ may not go well for the neo-con McCain lovers...

05/04/08 - Oak Grove, MO - 14:34

The newsletter got out, finally, and I'm already working on the next one.   They'll come out at least every two weeks, or as information warrants.  The last one (#18) spent some time on the NV convention and the walkout the McCain supporters and power-that-be orchestrated, along with several other events, in order to shut down the convention before the Ron Paul delegates could take the show.

I've inserted a YouTube of Ron Paul's speech at the event below.

On another note, I've joined a lot of other Ron Paul and freedom fans at BreaktheMatrix.com - a great online community and sharing site that promises to really do a lot to allow us to organize and work together nation-wide.

Finally, I got a copy of, read, and wrote a review of Dr. Paul's new book "The Revolution: A Manifesto."  You can read that review at this link.

04/24/08 - N. Salt Lake, UT - 10:25

OK, here I am again, knowing I've not just been slacking off on the site, but seriously getting into procrastination.  There's a lot of stuff going on right now, though little of it has to do with Dr. Paul's campaign.  Most of it has to do with my job and the fact that I'm about to give up on this career and find something else to do instead.

But enough of my problems.  I've made a pile of site updates today and made some changes to a few things.  I've removed the free DVD link off the front page, though the page itself is still there.  I did this because there are very few requests for it anymore and the DVD is pretty out of date now anyway.  I'll take the page itself down in a few days, as I'm giving some notice to those who've linked to it directly.  After the nominations are done, I might put it back up again and find a new DVD to distribute for the masses.

As for newsletters, I should put one out and I have tons of stuff to put in it, but it takes a lot of time and I'm short on that.  So it will have to wait, I guess.  :(

4/05/08 - Parowan, UT - 19:27

Stupid computers.  For some reason, I've been able to do just about everything I normally do online EXCEPT get the site to update properly and especially to get newsletters to publish.  I think I've got at least one problem licked.  The newsletters are a different matter, but the people I do them through (Constant Content) are on it, so I suspect it'll be fixed shortly.

I've now created the next newsletter three times only to have it crap the bed and disappear instead of sending.. It's getting tedious.  :(

Oh well.

Anyway, things are otherwise about the same as they've always been.  The trucker protests don't seem to have been all that successful, though the efforts of those around the ports and other areas should be applauded.  I think the main problem is a lack of continuity amongst those protesting.  Most thought it was over "fuel prices," while others (like me), were protesting over the double (and triple) taxation we're under through both state and federal taxes on fuel, highway use, and so forth.

For instance, a load of freight might pay, say, $2.00 a mile, but after fuel (0.40/mile or more), surcharges to broker (0.20/mile or more), taxes for proration of highway use (as much as 0.10/mile), etc., a driver might be left with $1.00/mile, from which he must pay for vehicle maintenance, insurance (both truck, trailer, and load), possibly a bond on the load itself, and more.  I know many drivers are lucky to be bringing home $4,000/month in profit, which hardly feeds a family in most areas anymore.

That and the general fall of the dollar and loss of income across the board for most Americans, and we're finding that truckers are only one aspect of a much larger problem.   Of course, you're a fan of Ron Paul, so none of this is news to you.  Right?  :)

03/25/08 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 08:00

OK, I'm posting again.  lol.  I know I've been pretty slack with the site lately.   I could spend an hour typing up a huge treatise on my latest adventures in trucking.  Suffice it to say, it sucked.  Lots of long-running and hurry-hurry and plenty of frustration.

Anyway, I've posted a few new things to the site, including a plan by several truckers (downplayed in his article, I think, since I've been hearing about it on the CB for weeks) to strike on April 1st.  I won't say whether or not I'm joining them, since I'm a company driver and could get in trouble for it.

At any rate, life continues and the Ron Paul campaign keeps moving along.  I plan to publish another newsletter in the next day or two as there are many developments from the past week or so that should be published.

Keep on truckin'!

03/12/08 - Canton, OH - 10:18

This is a frustrating time of year for both politicos (esp. during the Presidential elections) and truck drivers.  Freight is usually a little slow this time of year, February/March being the tail end of the "lean season."  In politics during Presidential elections, this is when everything slows way down after the initial buildups - and this year is especially bad since everything started a lot earlier than it usually does.  Most candidates and their supporters are feeling some heavy burnout right now.

At any rate, I just wanted to post something to kind of check in with anyone who still reads this.  Not much new on the campaign front, so I haven't produced a newsletter yet.  I bet it's at least another week or two before it picks up.  Oh well.

03/05/08 - Ellensburg, WA - 17:52

I've made quite the circuit in the last few days.  I delivered what I reloaded with in Texas and tomorrow I'll be getting apples, this being Washington and all.

I got a new t-shirt, which is pictured to the right.  I love Bubba's in the Pilot in Jamestown, NM.  Great shirts!!

Not much happening site or campaign-wise.  I've dropped the newsletter down to just when it's needed (probably every couple of weeks or so).  I meant to have one go out this weekend, but never finished it.  I plan to have it go out tonight.   Things should start topick up again soon, I think.  I'm hoping this is the quiet before the storm.

02/29/08 - Terrell, TX - 18:17

I'm a slacker.  :)  Actually, I've been doing a lot of other things (such as driving) lately, but mostly I've been slacking off as far as the site goes.  Since the campaign is moving slowly right now, so's the site.  I didn't publish a newsletter last weekend, but will have one this weekend.  There just wasn't much worth sending out there.

Anyway, the site visitorship is down by about half now, and has been for about a month.  I think the campaign's supporters in general are kind of burned out and a little peeved (judging by the emails I get).   The campaign and Dr. Paul have made some mistakes lately, I think, but since they're human and not professional politicians (which is one reason to like them), I think this is normal.  Besides...who're Republicans going to back when McCain has his big moment like Howard Dean did and ruins his campaign?  :)

So we're still plugging along, just at a little slower pace... for now.

2/22/08 - Jerome, ID - 20:15

Well, like the campaign seems to be right now, I find myself slowing down.  Online anyway.  Regular life has a way of keeping itself too busy.  :)

I won't go into a discussion of what I think the campaign is or isn't doing, should or shouldn't be doing, and whatever.   There are plenty of websites already doing that and doing a great job of torpedoing the efforts of those of us who're really trying to promote the message more than the man.  I've watched this happen in every libertarian-style political event I've ever been a party to.  We're great at being our own worst enemies.  Which is part of the reason why a libertarian-style government would be so great: they'd be so busy screwing themselves up, they'd have no time to interfere with our lives and screw them up too!

Anyway, someone sent me this video and I thought you'd like to see it:

02/15/08 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 08:00

Well, I got home day-before-yesterday and have been steadily doing site updates, email catch-ups, and some re-evaluating of my support for the campaign.  I've been through some ups-and-downs the past few days regarding how Dr. Paul's campaign is going.  It seemed to me that he had basically given up on his Presidential bid in an email he sent a week or so ago, but now a new video has changed that.

It's also changed how I feel about the campaign itself.  In the beginning, I was in it for the win.  I wanted to see Dr. Paul in the White House no matter what. Now I realize that this is only a bonus: icing on the cake, as it were.  The real issue here is education: educating a disillusioned and disheartened American people about real issues affecting all of us right now.  Issues like taxes, inflation, freedom, and our bumbling mistakes overseas.

This is far more important than any one man.  While I have issues with the apparent ineptitude of Ron's campaign staff - nearly all amateurs, at best - I can also see how great it is that Dr. Paul has gotten so far and gained so much momentum and support despite an apparently clueless advisory staff.  It's a tribute not only to the power of Ron's message, but also to the power of the people at large - the people like you and me that aren't officially part of any campaign and, in many cases, have never been a part of any campaign before in our lives.

Many Paul supporters are first-time politikers, having never worked on a campaign or even sent money to one.  Many others are brave men and women serving in the military right now who are contributing their hard-earned cash to Paul's campaign in unprecedented numbers.  Still others are regulars to the political scene and are glad to finally find a candidate they can truly back with all their vigor.

Whoever you are, your support of Dr. Paul's campaign is making a difference!  We're educating people about freedom, liberty, and our nation's current slide into ruin.  So keep up the good work!

02/08/08 - Ft. Bridger, WY - 19:00

Well, I rolled into town yesterday afternoon and got stuck here (roads closed, total whiteout) and parked on the road all night.  This morning, I made it into a truck stop when they turned all of us loose from the town we were in so we could find proper parking.  Now I'm stuck here.  Oh boy.  Less than 400 miles from home and about 800 miles from my destination.  Fun.

So I tried to be productive today, doing laundry and so forth.  Now I'm doing some stuff for the site and getting a head start on this weekends newsletter.   Hopefully I can get rolling again tomorrow.

02/04/08 - McCammon, ID - 13:21

Getting caught up on emails and finishing off the newsletter that was supposed to go out over the weekend.  :)  Got some spotter reports, of course, and a few other things like a great new suggestion on the Haulin' for Paul page.  Fun fun!

Truck in Building in Chicago

02/01/08 - Fargo, ND - 19:29

I'm in North Dakoooota, doncha know?

I've made quite the circuit the last few days, going from Colorado to Chicago and now here - on my way to Idaho.  I've finally spent some time updating the Spotters Page and other stuff on the site.  I'm caught up on emails and everything now.  Wow!  :)

I've added a photo of my truck in the "dock" in Chicago here, in case anyone's interested.   It was a tight fit, given that the point from where I took that photo is the other side of the street where a huge berm for railroad tracks blocks you from using anything other than the road to maneuver your rig.  A day in the life of a trucker.  haha

01/28/08 - Wheat Ridge, CO - 18:00

I've been getting some stuff one in the background of the site that needs to be done.   I've also slated the next newsletter to go out tonight (I meant to have it go out last night, but put in the wrong date on the mailer...derrr).

As I do some of this, I've been listening to Ron Paul from his latest YouTube broadcast on the state of the campaign:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0nJH6zB9VM

01/27/08 - Richfield, UT - 21:12

Just a quick note.  I've done some fast site updates (spotter reports and so forth).  I haven't had much time lately, which is why I haven't been keeping up-to-date with this blog and the site.  I'm catching up on emails again and there will be another newsletter in the next couple of days.  :)

01/19/08 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 07:21

Yes, I have actually gone other places and come back.   I'm taking a couple of days off at home this time.  :)  There will be another newsletter this weekend (I've added issue #13 to the site) and I've been doing several site updates over the past week.  Lots of primaries going on, so make sure you're ready for the one in your state

I've also added a page with information on the primary elections and caucus information.

Other than that, things are proceeding as normal.  Oh...don't tell anyone, but my trailer is full of ice cream...

01/13/08 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 13:51

Just a few quick notes for today.  I'm doing some quick site updates and will be sending out a newsletter tonight as well.  Lots of updates, including important information about New Hampshire.  I checked the site statistics today and we're averaging about 100 visitors per day or so now.  Nice!

01/11/08 - Russellville, AR - 18:55

I've had a heck of a past few days and little Internet access.  I took that corn flour to Denver, then went to Salt Lake City, and then to the Pocatello-area of Idaho. From there, I got snowed on through Wyoming and Nebraska and eventually got here.  After an accident (weird, to say the least - one truck rolled into another while neither driver was in their rig...) and a breakdown (airbag leveler, chronic with these KW T800s), I made it to Arkansas.  Now I'm headed back to Nebraska and on to Utah again.  Oh boy.

Anyway, I've done a ton of site updating and email answering tonight.  Including an important announcement about NAFTA/GAT and Mexican trucks being allowed into the U.S.  Not good, folks!

OK, so there you go.  There'll be another newsletter sometime this weekend as well.  Hoodley-hoo!

1/05/08 - Red Oaks, IA - 09:12

Well, I'm waiting on some corn flour to get loaded here.  Fun, fun.  While I'm doing that, I've updated the site with some spotter reports, posted the latest newsletter online, and answered a pile of emails.  A few other site updates are done too, so look around.  :)

I'll probably be publishing another newsletter this weekend, which will contain some new info about Iowa and the up-coming caucuses in Nevada and other states.  If I can get online tonight, I'll have some more stuff to post too, I bet.  :)

Addendum in the p.m.: I made it back across Nebraska.  Wooo.  I got an email from a girl named Aimee who sent me a copy of her Ron Paul Theme Song, which I've posted on the front page of the site.   If you like it, give it a download.

1/01/08 - Ripon, CA - 13:17

Just a quick note to update you on what's up today.  Happy New Year!  :)

I've posted the previous newsletter (#10) to the site and have published the latest one (#11) this morning, so it's hitting email boxes as I type.  Have a great day!

12/31/07 - Ripon, CA - 15:15

I'm stuck here in Ripon until after New Years.  Oh well.  Happy New Year everyone!  Hope yours is good.  At least I won't be out driving around with the drunken revelers.  lol

A lot of site updates, mad email catchups, and a new newsletter are happening right now and in the very near future.  So check through the site again!   Special thanks to Scott for the great new materials for download on the Issues page (at bottom).

12/25/07 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 07:10

Just a quick note to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!  I hope you all made it home for the holiday.  I know it was a close call for me to get here.  :)  All the best and keep 'er safe!

12/20/07 - Ontario, CA - 08:35

Delivered potatoes to L.A. this morning and am going to pick up some furniture in a few minutes over in Redlands.  In between, I've been catching up on emails, site updates, and this blog.  Ever notice how when things are going great, they suddenly seem to either fall apart totally or get so overwhelming that you can barely cope?  I think this is God's way of keeping us from getting comfortable.

OK, enough trucker philosophy.   Several new spotter reports, some new friends of ours, and a lot of answered emails have happened this morning.  So surf the site already!  :)  I'll have more to say later when I'm sitting around with nothing to do after this trailer is loaded.  haha

12/15/07 - Salina, KS - 12:45

Holy cow the roads out here suck.  It took me over ten hours to drive a whopping 300 miles...  I guess it's winter.

Anyway, I've just finished putting together and scheduling the next email newsletter to go out.  If you aren't signed up, hurry up and do so and you'll still get this one!  It doesn't go out until tonight.  Just in time for the Tea Party Money Bomb!

Hope all is well with everyone out there.  Hopefully you aren't snowed in somewhere you don't want to be.  :)

12/11/07 - Moriarty, NM - 17:50

Well, I did get stuck in San Antonio over the weekend.  Oh well.  I'm on the way back to Utah now with a dry load, so I don't have to listen to the reefer unit running on the trailer.  I have only the RigMaster generator running out there, which makes for a better nights' sleep.  :)

I've added the latest newsletter to the site, so you can read it online now.  I will be doing these newsletters more often.  Hopefully once a week, maybe not quite that often, but as often as time allows for sure.  The campaign is really picking up and things are getting hectic as the time for primary elections starts just after the New Year.  Since more and more events are happening and more and more calls for supporters to help are coming in, I think a smaller newsletter with a higher frequency is in order - rather than the lengthy ones we're doing now that come out every couple of weeks (or so).

There have also been some great site updates lately, including an alert about the Hours of Service rules and the federal DOT's take on that now.  Even though it doesn't have to do with the campaign directly, it is important for drivers to know the rules.

So keep on sending in those Spotter Reports, those Friends of Ron Paul suggestions, and all the great email comments!

Dec. 6, 2007 - Lubbock, TX - 21:10

On my way to San Antonio, TX and hoping this receiver will take this stuff early.  Otherwise I spend the weekend sitting.  :(

Anyway, the latest newsletter is going out as I type this.  Not too late this time.  lol  That's it for now.

12/03/07 - Ontario, CA - 23:00

Of course, that Sam's Club load got swapped halfway through and I made an "emergency" run to Iowa instead.  Then, dispatchers and brokers being the politicians they are, I got stuck there for a day.  lol  Then back through to Salt Lake during the height of the big storm hitting Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado.  I rode out half of it at home, though, so it wasn't so bad.  :)  Then ice cream to Flagstaff, AZ (another "emergency") and then here to California to pick up in the a.m. for back to SLC.  Fun, fun.

In the meantime, I've had little to no Internet access and so I've fallen way behind again.  I'm getting caught up now, though.  Tons of emails, many new spotter reports, and more!  Plus I'm behind on the newsletter (as per usual).  It's only going to get busier as the primaries approach...

Speaking of which, are you signed up to become a delegate in your state?  No?  Shame on you!  Go to Ron Paul's website to find out more info and get going!!  http://www.ronpaul2008.com/primary-and-caucus-information/

Ron, Aaron, and Kathy - click to enlarge

11/25/07 - Loveland, CO - 20:12

Haulin' Sam's Club going to Logan, UT and thought I'd post something while I wait for this to get finished.  I forgot all about posting this photo of Ron, myself, and my wife Kathy from the rally in Cheyenne, WY.  I just got this today from Jeff G (thanks, Jeff!).

11/24/07 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 22:00

Well, I did make it home for the holiday.  Having a few days off and getting a lot of honey-do's done around the house.  lol.  Christmas decorations and lights were the agenda today.  Oi.  I didn't get electrocuted, so I guess it turned out alright.

I'm doing some site improvements tonight, updating a few pages that've fallen behind and adding a new "Friends of Ours" links page - so if you've got a Ron Paul site, make sure to send us the link and we'll ad you to that page.  I'm also finally getting around to adding the most recent newsletter to the site as well.  Only took a week.  :)

11/21/07 - Salt Lake City, UT - 06:00

I'm supposed to be taking a trailer headed home for the holiday.  We'll see how that works out.  :)

A couple of quick notes: I haven't had time to ad the latest newsletter to the site yet, but will probably get that done during the holiday or this weekend.  I'll be posting photos of my truck with the new Ron Paul magnetic signs on it too.

I have added several new things to the site, including a link to a downloadable ISO image of the Ron Paul DVD we've been giving away.  A handful of other items have been added to the site as well, so look around a little and check it out.  :)

11/15/07 - Ontario, CA - 17:05

Welcome to the New World Order. I just read the news that the Liberty Dollar people have had all of their assets (including several million dollars worth of Ron Paul coins) stolen by the FBI in a raid on their premises and bank accounts.  Great.

Anyway, the good news for the day is that my friend Dale Williams did a radio interview with my friend Jeff Greenspan (a part of the Paul campaign camp) today (or maybe yesterday, I'm always behind on these things).  You can read a writeup by my other friend John on his site at this link: http://www.nationalexpositor.com/News/678.html  There's also a link to the radio interview, download-able through Google: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=872948682769508247

Thirdly, I published another issue of the newsletter yesterday.  That will be on the Got Your Ears On? page shortly.  The Ron Paul Magnets are doing well and we've just got the page for the Trailer Signs up in the past couple of days.

11/13/07 - Salt Lake City, UT - 21:08

Wow, it's been a very busy few days.  The orders for the Ron Paul magnetic signs are pouring in!  Plus we've got a line on someone who is doing trailer decorating for Ron Paul supporters for a very good price.  A page for her services is in the works.  I'm also in the process of putting together the next newsletter - which I'm late with, sorry.  lol  Lots going on and little time to do it in!

So I'll quit wasting time here and get to work on the other stuff I'm so behind on.  :)

11/07/07 - Ellensburg, WA - 19:23

I've been offline for a few days, driving around in places where I can't get into a truck stop with WiFi so I can log onto the 'Net for any amount of time.  Anyway... some catchup work to do, especially on the emails.

Some great stuff happening now with Ron Paul's campaign.  For those of you who are completely in the dark and use this blog as your only news source, haha, Ron Paul broke records on the 5th with his campaign raising over four million dollars in one day, all online.  That beats Romney's fundraising of $3.1m and was all thanks to over 36,500 donors!  Frikkin' amazing!

Quick addendum: the PayPal button on the Ron Paul magnet page wasn't working for whatever reason.  That's been fixed.   :)

11/02/07 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 15:00

Well, I'm still at home.  It's nice to be here, even though I've mostly been doing "honey do's," errands, and side business work.  Fun, fun.  :)

I was sent a link to a great article that appeared in the latest Boulder Weekly (printed in Boulder, CO, not far from here).  I recommend this be read as it's great material:   http://www.rmchronicle.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1599

Also, I've added a link to his book, which thanks to Jay Leno, is now in the top 20 searches on Amazon.com.  You'll find that link on the Issues page.  And don't forget to get your magnetic signs AT COST right here!  A great way to dress up any vehicle, any time, and they can be moved from vehicle to vehicle without damage!  Awesome!

10-31-07 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 09:18

Happy Halloween, everybody!  :)  Well, I made a quick trip to Council Bluffs, IA and back and have another couple of days off before heading out again.  Not much to update with as far as the site goes, except that the winner of our newsletter's t-shirt giveaway is Patty Thompson and the latest newsletter will be put on the site today as well.  I also had a request to put the driver's issues and Ron Paul talking points in PDF/Word/whatever format for download and easy printing, so I'll be doing that today as well.  They'll be on the issues page.  Everyone have a safe Halloween!

Addendum: I've also added a new magnetic sign you can get through the site - go here for more info.

10-28-07 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 09:21

Looking forward to the rally in Cheyenne today.  I'll be reporting on it in the newsletter that will publish tonight, if all goes well.  The Spotter reports keep coming in, but we need to get the word out about them and get more people involved.  The good news is that the site is averaging about 150 visitors a day and most of them are landing on the front page and reading the issues and/or about us page and then exiting to the Ron Paul website.  That's what it's all about, folks!

10-25-07 - Victorville, CA - 12:19

Here I am again, waiting on a load.  Just a couple of quick notes.  The Spotter Reports are coming in steadily and I'm glad to see them!  The faster we get these, the bigger the page grows and the more we can see that Ron Paul supporters are everywhere!

Also, there will most likely be a newsletter this weekend, depending on the  timing of my getting home.  I'm hoping to be home before Sunday so I can go see Ron Paul when he is in Cheyenne Sunday afternoon!  Say "hi" if you see me there!  :)

10-22-07 - Salt Lake City, UT - 21:00

Wow, another long, strange trip.  :)  Got a lot of little things going on right now.  First, a lot of site updates.  A new Haulin' for Paul update, another addition to the Rollin' with Ron's Revolution page, and a handful of new spotter reports!  Awesome!

Also, I've created a Truckers4RonPaul profile on the new RonPaulSpace.com site, so look it up at this link!  Then make your own profile and friend me!  :)

Got a note from Terry, who is the Running Bear addition on the Haulin' for Paul page, about her rig.   She says:

I paid for this and want to donate more to Ron, but I need some help.  I have the side of my trailer blank (42 foot long, 7 foot high) and would love to have some great Ron Paul stuff on it.  I am currently traveling up I-81 headed towards Cape Cod the next 2 weeks if anyone is willing to help put some graphics on!!!

Contact her through her site at http://www.RunningBear.com if you can help.

So there's the updates today.  Still steadily sending out free DVDs and generally making a nuisance of myself handing out Ron Paul stuff at truck stops and shipper/receivers.  :)

10/18/07 - Santa Rosa, NM - 17:30

I got an email from Patty the other day and was going to email her back today and realized I lost her email address (or at least that I have the wrong one).  DOH!  Hey, Patty, email me again!  :)

Anyway, as I was driving across Arizona this morning, I saw a blue Honda Civic with a Ron Paul bumper sticker on it.  A little while later, I saw a Ron Paul R3volution sign.  Then it occurred to me that I see these all the time, all over the country.  So I decided a sort of archive of where they're seen would be cool.  So I'm starting one.  You'll see it on the site menu sometime tonight.  I have logged a handful of them from memory and voice notes I made while driving.  There'll be a spot where you can send in your sightings and lay claim to any that might be your doing too.  :)  Fun!

10-15-07 - Ripon, CA - 18:20

Just a quick update.  I've added the video of the making of the Ron Paul Truck Stop to the front page of the site as well as the truck stop's page here on Truckers4RonPaul.org.  I've also put the latest edition of the newsletter online on the Got Your Ears On page.  Here's a quiet hint, though... sign up for the newsletter and get it when it is first published.  Not only do you get the newsletter as soon as it's sent out (thus getting great information quickly), but you get to participate in newsletter-only drawings and giveaways...another of those is coming very soon!

10-13-07 - Salt Lake City, UT - 10:53

Another day in paradise.  :)  Things are plugging along.  I haven't been online for a couple of days, so I'm doing a lot of catch-up now.  I received some photos from the Ron Paul Truck Stop and will be creating a page about the truck stop shortly.  I am also still behind on the DVD requests, so if anyone wants to help out with those, let me know.

On a quick note, great news from Michigan!  Ron Paul scored 49% on the exit polls after the debate, trouncing the other candidates mightily!

10/07/07 - Terrell, TX - 19:28

OK, I've been slacking on the posts lately.  I sent out a special-edition newsletter for those of you who subscribe talking about the setup of the Ron Paul Truck Stop going on this weekend.  If you don't subscribe to the newsletter, you didn't get the bulletin, so...sux to be you.  :)  Click here to get your ears on!

I was featured on etrucker.com and a couple of other sites, which meant a huge spike in the number of free DVD requests.  It's going to take quite a while for me to catch up unless I get some more volunteers to help me out.  Click here to find out how you can do that.

Other than all that, things are about normal.  Ron Paul's campaign brought in a record $5 million in donations this last quarter!  Amazing!  This means his campaign is in the big leagues and any press or media outlet that talks about John McCain and doesn't mention Paul is an obvious sell-out, since McCain's finances are in the toilet and Ron now has more cash in his campaign than John does.   Meanwhile, Rudy the 9/11 poster boy is continuing to fall on his face as report after report of his profit-making from 9/11 and fact-hiding during his tenure as Mayor of New York are continuing to come out.

Well, that's it for today.  I've been working pretty hard to keep things plugging along.  And thanks to everyone for all the great emails, links, and support!

10/01/07 - Portland, OR - 16:29

Well, my truck is in the shop (again) and I'm in a hotel in a not-so-good neighborhood of Portland.  Ahh, this is the life... :)

Anyway, I got some great emails, as per usual.  I love the people who visit this site.  You rule.  :)  One of those had a link to this: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=57915 It's about an upcoming protest movement against the NAFTA highway.  Read it and participate in helping this brave Senator from Oklahoma.

09/27/07 - Hesperia, CA - 19:00

Well, here I've been to LA again.  Not my favorite place.  :)  I got out of Dodge as quickly as possible, though.

Just a quick update.  I got some great emails the past couple of days from people and really appreciate all of your support and comments.  Great stuff.  I've sent out newsletter #4 and will be posting it to the site soon.  Also, for those of you looking for a way to advertise Ron Paul on your truck without permanent paint or whatever, check out the latest suggestion from Audi on the Rollin' With Ron's Revolution page.

09/23/07 - Rawlins, WY - 08:48

Just a quick post before I get going up to Idaho Falls today.  I got a great link from the webmaster at RonPaulFan.com, which is a great blog and news source for all things Ron Paul.  I'm very impressed.

Also, I will be updating the site a little and sending out the next newsletter in the next few days, so if you're not already subscribed to the newsletter, Get Your Ears On

09/20/07 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 10:54

Well, I made it back home.  :)  Now I've got a lot of stuff to do around the house and I've got to go into Cheyenne to take my Wyoming driver's tests to change my CDL to a Wyo license.  Fun, fun.

But a few updates here first.  The DVDs are going out steadily.  I've been approached by some people asking if they can help out in that regard (beyond just copying them and distributing them around their area).  I'll be setting up something along those lines soon, since I'm fast getting overwhelmed with the number of requests I get.   If you're interested in more info, stay tuned here, or email me to query about it.  I appreciate all everyone does to talk with me about what they're doing, what's going on, and more!

I also mentioned the work being done on the Truckers For Ron Paul Truck Stop in California (see 9/18/07 post).  I'll have many more details on that exciting development and more in the next issue of our newsletter, which will publish shortly.  If you haven't subscribed, click here and do so!

Finally, I was sent this short YouTube video from a Ron Paul supporter in Salt Lake City and thought I'd include it here for your viewing interest.  Just click this link to watch.  It's the first episode of the Dr. No! Zone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MmNH1rreiQ

09/18/07 - Parowan, UT - 10:23

I'm on a quick stop on my way back to Salt Lake City.  Since I haven't been online in a few days, I thought I'd better download email and try to get caught up on a few things before I push on.  Some exciting things have happened in the past couple of days that I think all of you will be very interested in hearing about.

First, I missed the Salt Lake City rally and visit from Dr. Paul on Saturday due to a flat tire while going through Price, Utah.  That delayed me about four hours, so when I got into town, the event was over.  :(  I was severely bummed.  The next day, on my way to LA, Cali, though, I got a phone call from a friend of mine and fellow Ron Paul supporter.  He wanted to know whether I could teleconference with some Ron Paul supporters who were setting up something exciting and very trucker-related.  When told the meeting was at a truck stop halfway between Baker, CA and Barstow, CA, I said that I could do better than that...I could show up to the meeting in person.

So I did.  Holy cow, this is exciting!  The owner of the truck stop, Jeff, is a big Ron Paul supporter and has offered his facility up to become the official Truckers4RonPaul Ron Paul Truck Stop!!  With a lot of help (he's actually doing the bulk of the work) from Ernest Hancock of the Las Vegas Ron Paul R3volution, and money donated from various sources, this is going to become a reality.  I'm really stoked about it.  I'll have a lot more details very soon and will be updating the site when I have more time to stop and do so.

So if you're driving along I-15 from Vegas to LA, stop at the Desert Star Ranch at the Afton Road exit (about halfway between Baker and Barstow) and go see John and his friends and family who run this great place.  There's ample parking for big rigs, RVs, and cars alike in a very safe and family atmosphere.  Free WIFI too!!

09/13/07 - Amarillo, TX, 18:00

Well, I haven't gotten very far since the last time I posted.  Stupid load brokers.. Anyway, I've made a handful of site updates and the site is now included on RonPaulforpresident2008.com (a site that gets even more RP traffic than the official site, RonPaul2008.com does).  Which means I got another pile of DVD requests.  I just got caught up, people!  :)

Man, if some enterprising person were to open a chain of postal stores (e.g. UPS Store) in truck stops nationwide, they'd make a killing of people like me...  Just a thought...

Anyway, back to the site.  I added the  latest newsletter to the Got Your Ears On? page, so you anarchists that won't sign up for any lists can read it now.  :)

We also got a reprieve from Mexican trucks coming into our country and nearly got lucky with the hours of service rules reverting back to the good-ol-days...  I guess one of two is better than none.  Keep 'em rollin'!

09/10/07 - Slidell, LA - 20:22

Here I am in the muggy heat of Louisiana getting ready to die for want of colder climes.  lol

On the up-side, I've finished and sent out the latest newsletter, so if you're subscribed, you'll be receiving that tonight.  I will put it online later this week for all to view.

I'm nearly caught up with the DVD requests now too, though I ran out of stamps and the truck stops here apparently don't sell them.  Oi.  I might have to break down and stop at a WalMart or something if this doesn't improve.  :)

09/07/07 - Cheyenne, WY - 19:31

Stopped in Cheyenne here for some fuel, a quick look at my email (and such), and a rest before heading south.  Holy cow, I'm way behind on these DVDs again.  lol

The debates last night were a crock.  Paul got his message out as best he could, but you could see him getting frustrated with the  childish antics of Guiliani and Fox "News."  They're doing all they can to make him look foolish in favor of their globalist picks, that's for sure.  The horse puckey Hannity tried to use to explain why Paul won the cell phone poll (hands down!) was crikey, since only one vote per cell number was allowed (I called and voted).

Obviously the establishment is getting nervous over his growing popularity and hard-core support: none of their money is in his coffers, unlike the top-tier candidates - the ones who buy their votes and victories...

09/05/07 - Pine Bluffs, WY - 21:21

Well, the move went well, so we're getting settled in.  I'm back online finally and will be back on the road soon.  It's been a nice, but hectic (and backbreaking) week!  Holy crow!  You never know how much stuff you own until you move it...

So now I have several million DVD requests to get caught up on as well as comments and suggestions from you loyal webbernauts.   :)  There will be another newsletter soon with updates on what happened at the Texas Straw Poll this Labor Day weekend.  There are reports that many Ron Paul supporters were being given the runaround and being outright barred from the voting floor by unknown "security" working for the GOP.  Not surprising given the Google video of a pea-brained idiot who took a sign from an RP supporter at the Iowa Straw Poll and stood on it like some kind of fat ape.  Watch the end of the video for the footage I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl-JCyiBNao

08/30/07 - Salt Lake City, UT - 09:00

Well, I'm back home, though home will be changing soon.  We're packing up to move this long Labor Day weekend.  Don't be surprised if the site languishes for a few days while this happens.  Can't be helped.  :)

There's been a real run on the free DVDs the past two days.  I've had over 20 requests since Tuesday!  I think it's because Truckers4RonPaul.org was featured on the front page of both The National Expositor and of RonPaulforPresident2008.com.  I'm burning DVDs to get caught up right now.   Thanks to my friends at those two sites for their support!

08/29/07 - Ripon, CA - 05:30

I really need some coffee...

There have been a ton of DVD requests lately, so  I've got my work cut out for me again.  Oh well.  I received the following from William Faust at the Philadelphia Meetup Group:

Hey, I have a favor to ask. I am a member of the Greater Philadelphia Ron Paul Presidential Campaign Meetup. Let's just call it "Phila" for short. Dr. Paul's campaign presently has a fund raising competition between all of the meetups thru August 31st. Any online contributions to Dr. Paul's campaign, or regular mail postmarked by that date, counts.

The winner gets a visit by Dr. Paul to their city. Phila. has been rocking back and forth between 1st and 4th place. Dr.  Paul MUST come to Phila. It is the birthplace of the Constitution. Those rat  bastard big-government, welfare-warfare Republicans and Democrats in Washington might as well blow snot into it for all their lack of respect for it and we are damn sick and tired of it. They've run a perfectly good country into the ground. We want Dr. Paul to come to Phila to announce here in front of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell that we're having another Revolution to reinstate the Constitution as the Founders established it.

A side benefit to having Dr. Paul come to Phila is that the city is located pretty much in the mid-section of the Northeast corridor, with approx. 60 million? people living within 200 miles. This would, with adequate notice, allow for a massive event of thousands for Ron Paul that the Mainstream Media could not ignore. None of the other candidates would be able to come remotely close to fielding 1/20th as many people. In fact, those sell-outs have to pay people to come to their rallies.

Okay, so here's my pitch to you. If you agree with my way of thinking, that he should come to Phila for such purpose, you could ask your trucker friends who are Ron Paul supporters to indicate MU 25 on their online contributions made by Aug. 31st and on checks postmarked by the same date. It's that simple.

Well, he makes a persuasive argument.  Doesn't he?

08/27/07 - Fernley, NV - 20:29

Busy, busy.  The latest issue of our newsletter was sent out a couple of days ago and will be online soon.  In the meantime, you can sign up to receive them as soon as they come out by going to the Got Your Ears On? page.  This one had a free giveaway available only to newsletter readers!

Another driver backed into my truck Saturday night.  It only did cosmetic damage, but it woke me up and I had to waste an hour of sleep time writing up accident reports.  Blah.  Oh well, it happens.

The free DVD offer is on the front page of my friend John's site, The National Expositor, again and I've had a flood of requests for it.  So I'm behind again.  I should probably be addressing envelopes and burning disks instead of typing this.  :)

08/24/07 - Russellville, AR - 15:35

Well, it's been a lot of running lately, that's for sure.  I wanted to apologize for not getting the next issue of the site's newsletter out yet.  I just haven't had time, plain and simple.  There will be some great stuff in it and I hope to have it done this weekend.

In the meantime, if you haven't registered to vote (so you can vote for Ron Paul in the primary elections coming up soon in a state near you...), here's a great resource to find out what the rules are for Republican primary elections in your state (they aren't like regular elections, so read up): http://www.primarilypaul.com/ron-paul-in-the-primaries/

08/21/07 - Butte, MT, 19:40

What a long day.  I've been through Washington, down into the wilds of Idaho and across US12 through north-central Idaho into Montana.  Holy crap that's a long drive.  Really nice scenery, though.

Anyway, the website continues to build.  I haven't had Web access for a couple of days, so the site hasn't had any updates and I've fallen behind on the DVDs again.  I'm catching up (I've been filling out envelopes for post).  Had to do about 11 of them to get caught up.  :)

I will be publishing another newsletter in the next two or three days, so if you haven't signed up for it, you'd better hurry!  Go to the Got Your Ears On? page and git er done.

A quick add-on note:  I made a few site changes and updates, including some great material you can download that others have sent me.  An awesome poster you can print and hang up and a cool $5 bill you can download and give away.  :)  Check them out on the Rollin' With Ron's Revolution page.

08/18/07 - Cedar City, UT 05:12

Not much new to report on the site right now.  Still plugging along, steadily growing in visits per day (avg. 85 now) and getting 1-2 DVD requests per day as well.

In other news, though, I've been playing phone tag with Ron Paul's press agent to secure a short interview, which I'll post to the site as soon as it happens.  It will be in print, since I don't have the setup to make audio.  I'd just screw it up anyway.  :)

In some more news, the following headline about Mexican trucks running in the USA appeared on Fox:  <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0%2C2933%2C293660%2C00.html" target="_blank">Plan to Allow Some Mexican Trucks Full U.S. Highway Access Nears Approval</a>.  Great...

08/14/07 - Salt Lake City, UT - 23:21

Well here I am on another late night.  lol  The first issue of our newsletter is being sent out as we speak and it's full of great information and short articles.  For those of you who don't subscribe, you can click on the "Got Your Ears On?" link to the left and sign up.  It's free and the next issue has a special giveaway that only subscribers are privvy to!  Yep, so you'd better sign up now! :)

08/13/07 - Salt Lake City, Utah, 23:38

I finally got caught up on the Ron Paul DVDs I needed to get sent out.  I totaled it up and so far I've sent 38 of them.  I ran out of envelopes and stamps a few days ago and had to hit the Sam's Club to get a case of envelopes and a roll of stamps so I could get the rest of these out.  The requests for them still trickle in (about one a day), so I'm keeping up now.

Looks like Iowa was a hit-and-miss affair.  I saw footage of what some of the candidates had going on.  Romney is still spending money like a drunken sailor and Rudy didn't even bother to show up.   I guess Ron's home state of Texas is next.

08/10/07 - Rawlins, WY - 22:47

I've had a crap day today, so I'll make this short.  :)  I'm looking forward to the Straw Poll in Iowa tomorrow and am keeping my fingers crossed that Ron does well.  I was listening to CNN on my Sirius radio and they actually deemed him worthy of mention, stating that while Romney is the expected winner (duh, his old campaign manager is running the poll), Ron Paul has a huge Internet following that may push him into some success tomorrow.  I guess all of this 'Net attention is finally forcing some of the big media outlets to at least acknowledge that he's running.

On another note, I set this page up the day before yesterday and, because I was so beat out and tired, I forgot the publish the site with this new page included.  Derrrr  :)

08/08/07 - Barstow, CA - 19:12

Well, here we are with the first official post of the new blog.  Hopefully you find it at least mildly entertaining (if nothing else).  The Iowa Straw Polls are Saturday, of course, and the Ron Paul campaign is pushing hard on those.  There is some controversy surrounding the Diebold machines used to take the vote count and the fact that an old campaign manager of Mitt Romney's is actually running the event, but hopefully those will be non-issues and the whole thing will go off without a hitch or any questionability.  That's probably a word.  I got the red underline, but I figure it's readable as a word, so it's probably good... Anyway, good luck, Ron!  There's a lot of us out here pullin' for ya!
