Dear Aaron,
Welcome
to the second issue of the Truckers4RonPaul.org newsletter. We've had a whole bunch of new sub- scribers and I'd
like to welcome all of you to our little club. :)
Several of you have asked if you can help me with any
of the site's activities and I've responded with the idea that telling your friends, copying the DVD, and otherwise
spreading the word about this site and the Ron Paul campaign are help enough.
Also, I'll be posting these
newsletters online a day or two after they publish in email. You'll find them on the Got Your Ears On? page.
So tell your friends about Ron Paul and keep on truckin'! Sincerely, Aaron Turpen www.Truckers4RonPaul.org
Note: at he bottom of this email there are unsubscribe, forward, and subscribe
links for your convenience.

The next major event is still the Texas Straw Poll for the Republican Party of Texas, which is Ron Paul's
home state.
This is happening August 31 and September 1, so it's only a few weeks away. This is
usually one of the biggest GOP events in the West and Ron is expecting to do well.
You can find out more about
this event by clicking here.
Yeeha!
We're only a few short months from the primary elections, so if you haven't registered
or found out what you need to do to vote in your state's Republican Primaries, you'll need to do so. The site at this link will help answer your questions.
All of this work for Dr. Paul's campaign means little if he doesn't win
at the primaries! |

Win "Convoy" on DVD!
In the last issue, I promised that I'd have a surprise giveaway. Well, here it is!
I'm giving away my DVD of Convoy (in the case), shipping included, to the first person to send me email with proof that
they've donated at least $25 to the Ron Paul 2008 campaign on or after August 25th, 2007!
Just send
me a forward of your thank you email or a scanned image/photo of your payment receipt.
The first one to
do so gets the DVD! So hurry if you want to win! | |

| Lots of Website Updates
Many, many updates
to the Truckers4RonPaul.org website.
by Aaron Turpen Website updates galore! OK, maybe not "galore," but there
are a pile of them. You'll probably have noticed by now that the front page to the site got a big face-lift.
Several visitors had complained that the navigation links, while cute, didn't really explain themselves very well.
So they're explained right on the front page of the site. Maybe I took the trucker references too far... The Rollin' With Ron's Revolution page has had a lot of new input from visitors about what drivers can be doing to promote Ron Paul. You can even download
your own $5 bill! It's as real as the money the Treasury prints... Back-issues of this newsletter are
now available on the Got Your Ears On? page, so that those who haven't been subscribed since the beginning can see what was in our earlier issues. I'll
usually get published issues (like this one you're reading) up on that page within a couple of days of it's emailing
to you. For some, this might make it easier to read as well. As always, you can get instant updates as to
what's going on by reading my ultra-engaging and highly educational blog on the Radio Rambo page. It's like sitting in the truck stop listening to the CB and not being able to get a word in edgewise! haha |
| Activist Aaron Russo Dies
Producer of
"America: Freedom to Fascism" succumbs to cancer. by Aaron Turpen
Libertarian and freedom activist Aaron Russo has died. A sad day for freedom
activists everywhere. Russo is best known for his latest, award-winning documentary film " America: Freedom to Fascism" in which he documents the fall of America's freedoms and the controlling
power-grabs of the Elite. Russo also fully endorsed Ron Paul's current Presidential Campaign. Russo's fight with cancer
was finally lost yesterday. He was a great man who leaves an awesome legacy for us to try to live up to. You can
find out more about Russo at these links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Russohttp://www.freedomtofascism.com/For one of the most enlightening interviews you're ever likely to hear, please click the link below to watch

| High Risk Credit
From the desk of Congressman
Ron Paul, August 20, 2007. by Congressman Ron Paul (http://www.house.gov/paul/tst/tst2007/tst082007.htm) As markets went on a rollercoaster ride last week, our economy is coming close to a day of reckoning for loose credit policies
being followed by the Federal Reserve Bank. Simply, foreign banks we have been relying on to buy our debt are waking up to
the reality of much higher default rates than predicted, and many mortgage backed securities have been reduced to "junk"
ratings. Wall Street fears the possibility of tightening credit and the tightening of America's belts. Why, they say,
"if Americans spend only what they can afford, think of the ripple effects throughout the economy!" This is the
cry, as the call comes for the fed to cut rates and bail out companies in trouble.
More inflation is, however,
never the answer to inflation.
The truth is that business involves risk, and businesses that miscalculate risk
should be liquidated, so their assets can be reallocated to businesses that correctly judge risk and make profits. Instead,
the Fed has injected $64 billion into the jittery markets, effectively amounting to a bailout that keeps these malinvestments
afloat, but eventually they will become the undoing of our economy.
In addition to the negative reactions in financial
markets, many Americans have taken on too much personal debt owing to exotic mortgage products and artificially low interest
rates. Unfortunately, these families are now in the position of losing their homes in unprecedented numbers as the teaser
rates expire and the real bills are coming due.
The real answers are, and always have been, found in the principles
of the free market. Let the market set the interest rates. If we had been functioning under a true and transparent free market
system, we would not be in the mess we are in today. Government, like the American household, needs to live within its means
to get back on stable fiscal ground.
We've been headed in the wrong direction since 1971. This week marks the
36th anniversary of Nixon's decision to close the gold window, which convinced me to seek public office to call attention
to the runaway money train that would come in the aftermath of that decision. The temptation to print and spend money with
impunity, like the temptation to max out lines of credit, is too strong to for government to resist. While Nixon brokered
exclusivity deals with OPEC to prop up demand for the tidal wave of green pieces of paper the Fed pumped into the markets,
the world is tiring of marching to the beat of our drum in order to secure their energy needs. The house of cards Nixon built
is now on the verge of collapsing on our heads, and on our children's heads.
As the dollar weakens, it becomes
ever clearer that we need a return to sound, commodity-based money for a secure future. Money based on real value, not
empty promises and secretive backroom machinations, is the way to get out of the current calamity without causing even bigger
problems. | | | | |
